Special Needs and Disabilities

Children build on their physical experiences of the world through their senses.

We are renowned for our work with children with special needs using practical, hands-on methods and physical education.

There is a growing desire from teachers within Europe and beyond for continuing professional development (CPD) in identification, early intervention and teaching methods for children with Autism, and other special educational needs, as it becomes the international norm to include as many children with special needs and disabilities as possible in schools.

Most recently we have provided lectures and workshops in Edinburgh UK, San Francisco for US Charter Montessori schools, Krakow for Montessori Europe and Geneva for the Association Montessori Suisse.

Issues with Sensory Integration are becoming increasingly global issues and many children have a combination of ‘hiddendisabilities which hinder their learning and impact negatively on their self esteem.

At Eight29 we believe that every child has an inner urgency to learn and we strive to make it possible for children to build on their innate strengths, interests and abilities.

Our written papers and articles are regularly reprinted and some are hosted on the National Literacy website and The National Autistic Society website.

We have papers on Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, AD(H)D, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Asperger Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Sensory Integration, Diet and Diabetes.
